On a 2 piece cylinder does it have to be welded by a certified welder of can you get a screw together type that needs no welding. the jobs in California and I'm being told two different things. Thanks

It is a matter of opinion. Mine is that all cylinder joints should be seam welded by a certified welder.

Some feel that using the proper "dope" on the threads is adequate and in theory, it is.

I opt for both.

One's personal preference on this matter: weld or "dope" is overridden by the manufacturer's proceedure. Hopefully that proceedure is in writing somewhere. Best of luck.
