huge shrimp on sale!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

What a buy! Our grocery is selling huge, jumbo shrimp [now THAT'S an oxymoron] (: for $6.99/lb. So I splurged. There's three of them thawing right now for dinner. Saute in garlic butter, heat up the yellow rice, and yumm. Boy this cold weather makes me want to cook! (and eat). What's on the menu at your house? Best to all. Stef.

Sounds good, I haven't had shrimp in ages. I used to work at a seafood restaurant and I miss the shrimp: fried, cocktails, shrimp scampi, shrimp tortellini! Yum!!!

Tonight we had omlettes with ham, cheese, and peppers, toast and grape juice.

I made up a pretty good-sized meatloaf, with rice and spheggti squash, along with leftover coleslaw and baked beans! oh and somesort of chocklot fudge cake that I made in my crockpot-it was almost more pudding than cake but no one complained! -I'm worried that my FIL isn't eating well-my MIL is on a feeding tube-she does her Ensure bit, but he doesn't cook.. so took a good chunk of food over there-I thought it would be enough for a couple of days, but after I visited with MIL a few minents, my FIL had eaten nearly all of it. I'll do a big pot of soup and bread tomorrow.

Sure would like to have some shrimp! I love seafood and, being in Ky we don't get it often!
