odd pekin eggs and no eggs

I have a male and female Pekin now 2 years old. Purchased at 2 weeks. The first year we had an egg a day and the female sat of her eggs which she laid in her overnight cage. They had 5 lovely babies. This year the eggs were long and then small like large olives and then larger and many days missed and then zip, zero. I feed them Layena as recommended by the vet and romaine lettuce. Of course they have snails and other garden bugs and some of my plants. The female seems to be very healthy other than having bluish green dots on her beak. The vet doesn't seem concerned about them. I miss the eggs and I miss the babies. She wanted to nest even thought she didn't have any eggs. The beginning of Sept. is her nesting time. Strange too that she would lay her eggs just anywhere. Even in the pond. The first year, like I say, they were always in the cage. Their life was very disruptive the first year too as they were almost killed by a raccoon and they were shipped to my Mom's if I went out of town so had a different cage. She started her nest at my Mom's and had no problem relocating back to my house. Anyone have a clue? Thanks, Jo
