Eos 1n-RS

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

I'm aware that you'll experience -2/3 stop viewfinder brightness and the pellicle mirror only allow 67% light transmibility to the film.

Can I conclude that for a given exposure and a selected f-stop value, the 1n-rs will select a slower shutter speed as compared to the 1n to compensate for the light loss.

Thanks Andrew

You are correct. Since you loose one third of the light, that's two thirds of a stop which is lost.

So, If you select a particular aperture, and have the same speed film loaded, the EOS 1 NRS will select a shutter speed two thirds of a stop lower than that selected by the EOS 1N.

really? it doesn't compensate for that automatically?

Jeff,

I guess what Isaac meant was that the 1n-rs did compensate for the light loss by having a -2/3 stop as compared to the 1n
