VCD IN TIFF FORMAT

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

Recently I found a VCD, which is in a different format. When I checked I observed that the pictures are in TIFF format instead of mpg (mjpeg). The format is not playable in windows media player but it can be played in a VCD player.

Can anybody explain what the VCD standard is.

I thought the VCD standard was JPG. Although I have never done this myself, there is a really good guide to making VCDs with still images at www.labdv.com if you are interested. By standard, I mean for still pictures. VCD motion picture video must, of course, be MPEG-1.
