Way too much, $400 a month for 2 in Ky. but I buy lots of organic. I hope to cut that down some this year with the things I canned from our garden.

About $350.00 a month for three adults and two kids - but that amount will decrease in December when our pigs and turkeys hit the freezer.

$340.00, 4 adults, 1 teen, Ohio. This is an average - depends on what we have from the garden or if we have rabbit and chicken in the freezer.

average $250 per month for 2 adults in Western NY. Sometimes I think the animals eat better than we do. But since we eventually eat the animals, I guess it evens out. :)

$400.00 for a family of five, 2 adults, 2 teens, 1 little one in NE OH.

Do we count what we spend at the feed store?? I typically spend about $10.00/week at grocery store and almost $25 at the feed store. There are two of us and I live in Michigan. Many months I spend zero at the grocery store since I buy bulk at Sam's club a few times a year.

I count money I spend for chicken feed, but not for horse and dog feed. Because so far I haven't had to eat any of the horses!

I'm learning from the posts, but until I get it working... $480/mo. , 7 people (five kids under the age of 12), and we live in NE. :o) I hope to really cut that back, with having our own chickens, turkeys, and lots of room to garden.

I"ve gone from a high of $400 a month for 2 people down to around $200 a month. I'm still a homesteading wannabe living in the city (Indianapolis, IN) so we don't have livestock and just a tiny garden.
