I humbly need to ask what DH means

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

Is it..Darling Husband?

or...*smile* I can't think of anything! What does it mean!?

-- Aimee Gosse (aimeegosse@hotmail.com), October 14, 2001

dear hubby.

9yod means 9 year old daughter; 9yos is for son.

LOL=laugh out loud

ROFL=roll on floor laughing

IMO=in my opinion; IMHO adds humble

BTW=by the way

There are other abbreviations that I haven't quite figured out yet, but I can't think what they are. They don't come up as often as the above. I guess this is e-mail shorthand.

I've never understood why someone sophisticated enough (relatively speaking) to use a computer would think saving a couple of keystrokes is worth leaving their audience not able to understand what they're attempting to convey. I've seen it as ridiculous as "How r u?" for 'How are you' and "oic" for 'Oh, I see.'

I hadn't really been on here long enough to know any of that either, but to me DH always stood for Daniel Hartwig...silly me

Funny, i know i haven't been on here that long to really know, but i always thought that DH, meant Daniel Hartwig! what was i thinking?!

-- jillian (sweetunes483@yahoo.com), October 14, 2001.

UM!!! i didn't mean to answer twice, my computer did something funny and i thought the first one hadn't sent. AHH ME oh MY

Got to agree with you on this one. I am not the world's fastest or most accurate typist, but I think it is only polite to say what you want to say instead of confusing so many people who are supposed to "know" what all these abbreviations are about.

Talk to you later.

Who is Daniel Hartwig? A cousin to Socrates? Socrates was an old indian chief I think, wasn't he? Old hoot, the hillbilly gibson. Matt.24:44

-- old hoot gibson (hoot@pcinetwork.com), October 14, 2001.

Daniel Hartwig is the "man" in Jillian's life. They say they are only friends, but I don't know. Fortunately he's still in high school. Hate to see our sweet Jillian get too attached; after all, she's only 18!

-- Cathy N. (keeper8@attcanada.ca), October 15, 2001.

to ALL: DANIEL IS NOT THE MAN IN MY LIFE!!!, boys have coodies, and he is just my friend. I can't stand anyone who thinks dear shooting is natural! =) the poor little dear.

-- jillian (sweetunes483@yahoo.com), October 15, 2001.

Oh my! Jillian shot him down and he never even had a chance. Poor Dear!

-- Just Duckie (Duck@spazmail.com), October 15, 2001.

I never shot no body down (lol), we just have a friendship that is focusing on God first and not each other. Because we're close "other people" think stuff. =) and i think he has had lots of chances, i'm surprised i haven't scared him off. =) THEN you can call him , poor dear.
