Need Fruit Salad Recipe FAST! I have....

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

My daughter has a 4H meeting tonight and its a potluck. She volunteered to bring a fruit salad, but I forgot about shopping for the ingredients for our usual recipe. I have 2 cans mandarin oranges, a can of bartlet pears, a can of whole pineapple, a can of sliced peaches, frozen whole strawberries, bananas, CoolWhip and a frozen container of sour cream. Can anyone come up with a great recipe using these ingredients? Thanks!

Lisa take your oranges drain them, drain the pears, drain the peaches, add the bananas makes sure all is drained well,in another bowl mix sour cream and 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon of sugar, if you have any cream cheese this really gives it a good flavor, if you don't then that's ok, mix all ingred. together add a dash of cinnimon. Chill. If by chance you have any nuts, coconut or cherries these really give it a good flavor. My grandmother use to make this and it was great. Tracy

Lisa - did you say you have a FROZEN container of sour cream - does it freeze well? I thought you could not freeze it.

I'd use everything but the sour cream and add a little cinnamon.

But recently I tried the best fruit salad I'd ever tasted--The topping was made with marshmallow fluff and a couple tablspoons of dacquiri mix (comes in a bottle in the soda/mixes for alcoholic drinks section of Walmart). I can't stop eating it!

CORRECTION: I should have said pina colada NOT dacquiri mix. Sorry.
