Christian/Jewish commune in Saskatchewan

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Last summer I put out an article looking for people interested in creating a commune. You made a lot of responces and suggestions, yet no one really became interested. Since last summenr I came across some funds generated from land sales, and I would have start-up money to make preliminary investigation to search for a site. Of course, all my efforts would be meaningless without participation of others. I am looking for serious people who firmly believe in true communal living based on Jewish/Christian teachings, with, or without funds those who dont have it; It is time to do something meaningful, something that will outlast us, to show to others that common work can be profitable, emotionally and physically satisfying; to acheave personal growth that is not merely measured in wealth; to give a new meaning to family living of days gone by; to help one another and the community; to be a shining example of prosperity and harmony to all those who...

Sounds nice Alexander. I can't make it there at this time.

You may want to check out Ben Israel in Cass Lake Minnesota, which I think is a community kind of similar to what you're thinking of.

Hi Alex. Wonder if there's a place for low-income senior. Jewish, PhD in ed with income of $400 per month. Social justice on my mind now that I know first-hand what it's like to be homeless. I suffer for lack of community. Nobody knows you when your down and out. the song is based on reality. Tell me about Saskat. How cold does it get? what would I do about being a u.s. citizen. Not sure Canada open to my showing up and staying and taking advantage of their health care system etc. Don't give up. Persist and you will have your community.

It's about time someone listen to god and the leading of putting a place for his people. I have a group of people looking for a place to help build. Tell me of your self and I'll do like wise. It is the body (of messiah) that is capable of anything and only true fellowship is where true joy comes from. We have some resources but plenty of hard work. Shalom
