Has anybody seen any Foxfire lately...I haven't seen any for years and was wondering if conditions are making it impossible to grow? Thought I had a piece of firewood in the pile that had Foxfire on it, but wouldn't ya know I brought it in with the next armload of firewood and burned it. Harmony

OK, I'm game. What is foxfire? (other than the book series). I live in the desert -- we don't have woodlots.

foxfore, is a phospherancate(?) (glowing) fungus, that usually growns underground around hardwoods tree roots, like oak and such. In the boook,, "adventures of Huckleberry finn" it was mentioned as a way to light a tunnel without giving off too much light and giving up your lacation. Its kinda earie looking, and you may thing your eyes are playing tricks on you. A soft greenish blueing glow,, Ive even seen some purpleish.

We don't have it here. Sounds neat though, and I wish I could see some.
