you are better off just starting from day olds and raising them on organic feed. you can call organic valley in Lafarge WI. They can give you some sources. I do know they are about $6 each at 22 weeks. good luck and I would ignore the other posts. here is the web site. http://www.organicvalley.com/

What do you mean by organic. I consider my pullets organic in that they have a run and I don't give them chemical de wormers or chemicals for mites. But I don't know what the corn they are eating was grown with.

Organic laying pullets??? Eagle

Rachel - you might look into Heritage Hills Farms in Virginia. They promote themselves as "organic" and sell the standby breeds, as well as a few rare plants/seeds and rare poultry breeds that you can't find easily elsewhere. Organic, in terms of what you raise, depends on what you feed the animals you already own. We allow our chickens to free range in good weather, and the only medication they get is the trace of antibiotic that comes in the Amish layer mash we give them.
