EOS 3000- what does it all mean?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

Just had friends come back from Italy and present me with a new EOS 3000, but the instruction booklet is in german and I have no idea what anything on my new toy means! Can't figure out what anything means(only how to take a photo, zoom and focus), but most importantly we can't turn it off! Can anyone help the photographically challenged???

Ali Mo,

I do not have a 3000 but I'm sure it has a command dial on the top left of the camera (the dial you set for different shooting modes) Turning this dial to the red "L" should turn it off. I hope this may help. Jeff

Hallo Ali Mo, off on the left hand side dial means that the camera is switched off. However, it always displays on the LCD panel whether you have a film in the camera, plus the number of available frames. This always uses a small amount of energy. If you dont use your camera for a while just take the batteries out. Take care. Gerd.
