Taliban shoot at Afghans fleeing US strikes

Teheran, October 7: Taliban forces shot at fleeing Afghans in the southern city of Kandahar after Sunday's attacks by the United States began, an informed source told Iran's official news agency IRNA.

Taliban forces were deployed in the main roads and opened fire at Afghans who fled from their homes in Kandahar and Helmand. They also fired at any car ignoring orders to halt, IRNA reported.

The source added that some 3,000 Afghans are estimated to have taken refuge in the mountains around Kandahar and Helmand to flee the US attacks.
