Sunday October 7 6:13 PM ET Afghan City of Jalalabad Under Attack Again - CNN

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - The eastern Afghan city of Jalalabad came under air attack for a second time on Sunday night, CNN reported.

It said the city had been rocked by loud blasts at around 5:30 p.m. EDT, around five hours after a first raid by the United States and its allies.

There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.

Jalalabad is a Taliban stronghold and the nearest Afghan city of importance to the Pakistan border. It is surrounded by guerrilla training camps, some believed to be run by Osama bin Laden (news - web sites).

The United States finally launched its long-anticipated raids on Afghanistan (news - web sites) on Sunday, nearly a month after the devastating attacks on New York and Washington which were blamed on Saudi-fugitive bin Laden, who lives as a ``guest'' of the ruling Taliban.
