Anyone get that sad feeling when the leaves start falling and the trees look soooo empty?

I love this time of year. Yes, the leaves are falling, it is the most beautiful.

I'm fine with it, until it gets all cloudy and grey in the winter. Which fortunately doesn't happen much here, but used to be par for the course where I grew up in Ohio. Grey skies from Oct through March.

I don't know, Sandra, I guess I like the change. I live on the shore of Lake Ontario and the trees block a lot of the view in the summer (they also block the view of the summer people, so that's compensation), but in the winter the leaves are off and I have a wonderful view of the lake. But I sure do hate the short daylight hours! I need a lot of light to function well emotionally, and winter is tough for that!

Tonight is a preview of what's coming: we've had a frost warning and I dragged in umpteen pots of geraniums off the porch, which I will have to drag BACK out again tomorrow morning, but it's 35*F now at 11 PM so I guess it was the smart thing to do. I always try and over winter way too many porch plants, but I can't stand to let them get killed quickly. I'd rather drag them in the house, do all the work, and then finally forget to water them in February kill and them off THEN! :)
