Has anyone used or knows about a circulating heater?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

We have been offered a Montgomery Wards {1930's?}coal/wood heater, and know nothing about it. Its hard to even explain what it looks like..sorta like a large box covered in enamal, with a load door and an ash door. The guy who has it says it works great, just wanted to get some input since I have never seen one before. The stove pipe fits into the back of it by the way. Thanks

There is nothing wrong with a circulator. Check and see if there are any cracks in the fire box on the inside if so have them welded or repaired. I use a Wood circulator every winter and you have to empty the ashes often and after a while you will get a grip on how is the best way to operate your stove. dale
