ELAN 7 FLASH EXPOSURE COMPENSATION

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

Does anyone know elan 7EQD is compatible with 380ex in terms of flash exposure compensation? I want to upgrade from Rebel G to Elan 7 but I want to make sure I can use my 380ex speedlite for flash exposure compensation. I am sure all other features will work but I don't know about flash metering for elan 7 and 380ex since elan 7 has 7 focusing points.

Thanks in advance

The 380EX (and any EX series Speedlite) will work fine with the Elan 7, and FEC is available with any TTL or E-TTL capable flash that's attached to it. Including third party TTL flashes.

A better choice would be the 420EX since it has a swivel head. With a swivel head you will be able to do bounce flash off the ceiling even when shooting in vertical.
