Supreme Court Suspends Bill ClintonClinton Has 40 Days to Challenge Decision

WASHINGTON -- If Bill Clinton ever returns to private law practice -- the doors to the Supreme Court may be closed to him.
The justices today suspended the former president from practicing law before the high court. And they gave him 40 days to say why he shouldn't be permanently kept out.
A Clinton spokeswoman is referring calls on the subject to his lawyer, David Kendall -- who hasn't had any comment yet.
The justices didn't give a reason for today's action. But disbarment before the Supreme Court often follows a disbarment in lower courts.
And the court action came after it was notified by the Arkansas Supreme Court that Clinton's Arkansas law license was suspended for five years.
Clinton also paid a $25,000 fine.
He agreed to both penalties as part of an understanding with the independent counsel at the end of the Monica Lewinsky investigation.

Clinton's been disbarred in Arkansas for five years? Boy, did that important news item, having to do with his so-called legacy, ever get buried in the news. I knew nothing about it until I read it here.
