Jesse Ballard b 1828 NC. He married Susan Jane Morton in Anson Co. 1849. She was the daughter of Samuel P. Morton who was in Anson Co. 1850 and 1860. In 1860 Jesse Ballard was living in Anson Co.NC,Cedar Hill District. Jesse and Susan had four children John 9, Sarah 6, Samuel P. 3, and Mary 2.In this 1850 census the Jesse Ballard family was living in house with Caroline Coley age 34 and she had one child Hannah age 4. Jesse Ballard was a Civil War Veteran. He moved his family to Black Hawk, MS after the Civil War and about 1890 moved to Hot Spring Co. AR.where he died 1901.
