I didn't get a chance to see the game, but taped it. However, after looking at the stats and reading all the internet write-ups, I won't watch it. I'm looking at the schedule and not seeing any wins, with the exception of Detroit, and the Bears at homebut if we keep playing this bad, even those may not happen. I had the beloved at 9-7 going into the year, but based on these first two games, do any of you see more than 3 or 4 wins? Who? We have no ability to run the ball... We can't get a sack against two of the least mobile QB's in the league... Randy and Cris are relentless in their abuse of Daunte... Our defense, which sucked last year, just lost it's best Player (Griffith)...

The good news is I know I won't have to get on a plane for the Super Bowl this year and we may get a top five pick.

I refuse to give up on the team. The D is definetely improved, if our Offense could have even played average in either game we would have won.

Giffith going down for the season is a heartbreaker, but not a teambreaker. Don Morgan got in there and played some great ball. This kid is fast and confident and I don't see why we should start belly aching before giving him a shot to show us his stuff. If we only had a Middle Linebacker we would be a top 10 defense. Kenny Wright looks really good. Robert Tate played well, even if he did let that TD pass somehow get in there. Our D Line was close all game, with the Bears quick passing game I think they did o.k.

On offense we just had a really shitty day all around. Sherm Lewis called a pretty pathetic game plan. Carter and Moss were pissy, but I certainly would have been too if in there shoes. Maybe they didn't handle it in the most productive way, but someone really needs to pull Daunte's head out of his ass. Culpepper seems hesitant to do anything. I don't know if the Dynamic Duo's tantrums are the cause of it or the result, but all three need to check themselves. Our running game wasn't bad, I mean if you only give your RB the ball 10- 15 times, what do you expect? I hate the Vikes stupid cute little idea where they think they are going to fool the defense by running out of a trips set all the time. DAMNIT! You have a HUGE O-Line and a 280 lb fullback, USE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That TE reverse was about the stupidest play I have ever seen.

Denny has no balls. That has been well established. When it's 4rth and goal from the one in the first quarter, GO FOR IT!! You have all game to rally if you miss. Also, learn to manage the clock. With 3:30 left we get the ball, run 2 plays and hit the 2 minute warning. That was gay.

I really honestly don't see why we shouldn't beat Tampa next weekend. But if we play like we have these past two games we won't. We need our Offense to right itself in a big way, and we need our Defense to continue to play hard. We also need to find a return guy. Will Tyrone Carter get his turn this week?

Fortunely (or unfortunately) I was in Toronto for a meeting and spent most of Sunday sitting in Pearson Airport having had 2 flights cancelled. I did manage to get home and heard of the Vikes loss so what else could go wrong! Ugh! I did briefly consider not making the trip, but had a terrorist been on the plane, I probably would have tried to slug him! Too bad about the Chris, Daunte and Randy squabbles but between Korey's death and the WTC and Pentagon disasters - it's a wonder anyone can concentrate!

GO VIKES!!!!!!!! Jan
