Ok, I'll start it! What did you think of Bush's speech last night? I thought it was great and right now I am so proud to be an American! I hope this country will continue to back him as they seemed to be last night. We cannot let these terrorists continue. Yes, a lot of lives will probably be lost but that is the price we have to pay, unfortunately. More could be lost if we don't do anything.

I was impressed. I thought he sounded very presidential and was pleased that he dropped the terrorist type retoric. It will, IMHO, go down as a very great speech.

Ummmm.....It was a technically very good speech, but I couldn't help but hear erosion of liberty throughout the entire thing. I like the man, but I feel the new cabinet he made is very dangerous, and all the sweeping powers for wire tapping, banking, transportation, frankly scares me.

Also, I desperately hoped that we would actually declare war on the organization of the Al Queda ~if~ that is who attacked us, but instead we were told that we were joining with our best friend Britain in a global ten year program to eradicate terrorists worldwide. Another globalist program. And he said that we were "for protection and pluralism", which is more globalist rhetoric. I am sorry, but my opinion is that we will simply create more terrorists and more troubles.

I do believe the perpetrators of these acts need to be sought after and brought to justice, but we cannot wage a war on people's hearts. Only God can change people's hearts. We will make more enemies. And the operation name is more haughty than anything I could imagine and again, I see it as flying in the face of God. Infinite Justice??? There is nothing infinite about our judgements......

It was a rousing, patriotic, "we're great" and gonna kick butt speech, but there was no sense of humbleness......Sorry. As I said, I actually do like the man.

Doreen, I agree with you about this new department. Does anyone know anything about the Pennsylvania governor who will head this thing? I can't see anything good coming out of that. I did think that President Bush did a fine job last night though. I just think that in trying to make things safer in America, the president may allow some things to be created that will subjigate us, if not now, then in the future. This puts the American people in a position of even greater control being placed upon them. The ONLY thing I trust in this world is that God is in control of events! Ultimately each and every one of us can stand for freedom, but what happens in the end is God's will. I am reminded of this song: (Chorus) Signs of the times are everywhere, and there's a brand new feeling in the air. Keep your eyes upon the eastern sky, lift up your head, your redemption draweth nigh.

Years of time have come and gone since I first heard it told, how Jesus would com again some day. If back then it seemed so real then I just can't help but feel how much closer his coming is today.

Wars and strife on every hand, and violence fills our land. Yet some people doubt he'll come again. But the Word of God is true. He'll redeem his chosen few. It's not long till Christ Jesus will descend.

I think Bush is in a no-win situation, having to choose the lesser of the available evils. He must balance wisdom against America's bloodthirst for revenge. I am reminded of the proverb, "Wisdom is found in many advisors" and the Kid chose an experienced, very competent team. The only way to keep other nations from turning against us, is to invite them to out team. yeah it sucks, but...has anyone noticed he is not letting the UN in on the plans? He strongly suspects them of being terrorist sympathizers.

Can you imagine the results had this happened when Clinton was in office? WWIII would be several days past and 3/4 of the world, including us, would be toast.

Speaking of the U.N., somewhere today I saw a passing reference to a U.N. sponsored anti-Israel get-together of some sort taking place in South Africa. Whatever one may think of Israel, why should the U.N. be sponsoring anti-ANY country rallies?!? Does that sound like what they were put together to do?

I think Bush's speech was good, as speeches go. I have acquired a deep-seated distrust of anything any politician says, so will wait and see if he follows through. And Doreen made a lot of good points - - I know Bush, Sr. is very involved in the one-world movement, and most likely Bush, Jr., no matter how nice a guy he is, and no matter whether he claims to be a Christian, is also involved in the one- world movement.

But, as Little Bit said, we are in the End Times, the Rapture and the Tribulation, then the Second Coming, are all drawing near. So (those of us who are believers) need to keep faithfully serving, and keep watching the sky.

i think you are right in saying Bush was/is up against a wall. I do think the speech was what the country wanted to hear...I am quite thankful this didn't happen onClinton's watch. I couldn't begin to guess what would have happened, but I don't believe the man would have shown the restraint that Bush has shown.

Kathleen, the conference you are talking abou was the UN conference on rascism. I t didn't go verry well for them. Jesse Jackson was therre tto push for reparations payments to tthe black citizens of America for slavery. Honestly, I have never owned a slave and neither has anyone else I know. If I remember correctly, the US and Israel both walked becasue they equated Zionism with rascism.Then there was the African leader who got up and told all white people to get out of their country or they would be killed, so I guess he wasn't getting the warm fuzzy vibe that was supposed to be happening there!

As for the World government thing, I think that we are going there regardless of who the President is. Now I just think we are going there more quickly..So buckle up! Perhaps there just is no choice?

Well, I know the one-world government is coming sooner or later, because the Bible says so. It's just awsome, and a little scary, to see it happening during our lifetime. Not that we haven't known where things were heading for a long time, it's just that each step along the way makes it more real.

I don't think that most of what has been said here is particularly divisive. I just think we are all adults who do not see things through rose colored glasses. How can we proclaim America's plusses without also recognizing her minuses? part of building a better America is accepting that there are things that need improving. If we follow our leaders blindly then we commit as big a sin as those who foloow no one. Either way it leads to one thing, tyranny.
