Digital Animation

I don't know if anybody has seen Blood: The Last Vampire (it sucks) but at the end of the video there is a short documentary about the production of the feature. At the end of the documentary is a short computer animated music video, I believe it is called pulse, that contained a couple of scenes very reminiscent of the pilot episode for Aeon Flux. I was wondering if anybody new if Peter Chung might have been involved in any way. Although to be fair, the music video seemed to rip off almost everything from sci-fi pop culture.

I also noticed the obvious similarities, like when the three guys "ski" through the hall way and shoot down two balconies full of enemies, sending them crashing to the floor below. I don't know about you guys but if there isn't going to be an Aeon movie(live or animated) then I would love to see traces of Aeon's world show up elsewhere. That is, if thats the best/closest we can get!

Blood wasn't that bad. It had good artwork, good action scenes and a great bilingual voice track (I wish more anime was dubbed that well!). No real depth to it, but a great "filler" movie... besides, Saya was kind of hot ^_^

I don't know... The animation in Blood was definitely some of the best I have ever seen, even when comparing it to Akira and Ghost in the Shell. But the narrative and story just didn't grab me. Maybe because it was so short. Or possibly because I didn't think the dubbing was that great. I thought a lot the voices lacked conviction. I don't know if they are planning to make it into a series or what, but I wish we could get some more background information about Saya and the Chiropterans, it could be interesting. And Saya was kinda cute in that school girl uniform. (I know, I'm a sick puppy). ^_^

I don't know if I can really agree with the quality of Blood the Last Vampire. Effects animation wise its quite up there. But frame rates were jerky in the character animation. The lipsync from the white Man in Black guy was really poorly done in my opinion. I don't think it really stands with the superlative full animation style of Akira. Or the polish of Ghost in the Shell.
