Just bought a Wired MediaPress Pro Mpeg1/2 real time encoder card for Mac. Need help to create a VCD without lip sync problem. The following was what I did: 1) Create individual video (.mpv) and audio (.mpa) elementary mpeg1 streams via MediaPress (video input to the card is from a Sony DVCAM deck). Video at 1150000bps, 25fps, GOP size 12. Audio at 224Kbps, 44.1KHz. 2) Multiplex the elementary streams to a system stream (.mpg) using VCDMaker Personal 3) Create a CD Image using VCDMaker Personal 4) Burn the CD Image using Toast Titanium

When the VCD is played on a standalone VCD player, the audio drifts further and further apart from the video as time goes by. It's a 60mins video.

I've tried bringing the mpeg file over to a PC and demultiplex with TMPGenc and multiplex again but the lip sync problem still exists...

Anyone got any solution, suggestion??

If the audio and video is out of sync by a constant amount I would have said to fix it in TMPGenc, in encoding range. This is not realistic because you say the sync drifts further and further apart. Can't you capture to a system stream to begin with? Why do you have to create individual audio and video streams?? Overall, I find it odd that you would have to go to all those lengths when you already have a real-time direct-to-MPEG capture device; one would have expected that right after capture you will have VCD-compliant MPEG files on your HDD, ready to author a VCD with.

The resultant mpeg file from the capture card is not VCD compliant. It's not recognised by both Toast and VCDMaker.
