Now I am confused by all of this discussion on Afganistan

People:

I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer; after all I live in East Texas. Here is why I am confused. I have been listening to TV and NPR.They have been saying that the Taliban fighters are fierce; cause they believe that to die in battle will send them to paradise.

Now it seems to me that if we kill them we will be doing a service. Their mothers and fathers will know that they have gone down the good path. If we kill all of them then we will have done a great service to the people there.

There must be a hole in the logic; someone from East Texas just can't find it.

They don't merely want to die. Else they would join Heaven's Gate. They want to kill us and don't mind dying in the process.

It seems that most of the Taliban have already fled Afghanistan.
