Building my own darkroom.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo - Film & Processing : One Thread

I am building my own dark room in my house, and I was wondering what to get to unroll me film in, so I can put it in a container to develop and not get it exposed. Any suggestions would be a help. Thanks

Will this be a room dedicated only to photo processes? If this is the case your best bet is to make the room completely light tight. Choose an area without any window if this isn't possible plan on blocking all light coming from the window & make sure the door is light tight as well. If you can't put a room aside for darkroom work you can use a changing bag to load your film into a light tight developing tank

Get a changing bag.

A Photoflex Changing Tent works great if your darkroom isn't finished. You can also take it into the field with you. You can find them at the Calumet site or the Photoflex site. When your darkroom is finished, you can do all your changing there if it is absolutely light tight.
