In my previous location (zone 5), I had no problems over-wintering Swiss Chard. Can it be done in zone 3 ? How much mulching and what kind of mulching might do the trick ?

My Grandmother used to keep harvesting her swiss chard all winter in zone 3 by using a cold frame. You might want to try that as long as it's still producing.
