And here is proof:"Give strong drink to him who is perishing, and wine to those who are bitter of heart. Let him drink and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more." - Proverbs 31:6,7

DARN! This is one of those times I really do wish I could find that article I read in some magazine like Equinox or Discover, been rooting around in the basement several times, and can't find it. If I do, I'll have it framed for the wall. The article describes how archaeologists have a new theory about hunter-gatherers settling down to an agricultural society, supposedly this being one of the major advances forward for civilization. They studied the pottery shards and bits of grains found in ancient caves in southern Europe and northern Africa, where supposedly the first agriculture was practised. The original theory is that they grew grains as a source of food. However, closer examination of the "evidence" points more towards using the grains for the brewing of beer! So there you have it, folks: Civilization is built on BEER! Explains one helluva lot, don't it! LOL! LOL! LOL!
