greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Does anyone out there have a pattern for a goat coat that they can send me as an email attachment. I would appreciate it greatly. Thank you

I don't know if you are looking for something "fancy" for a parade or for a purely functional reason. If you are looking for something for kids or a sick adult goat I use "people" sweaters and sweatshirts. The small newborn sweaters you find at garage sales work great for newborns and if you don't want to wash them, you can throw them away. I usually buy them for about 50 cents and the large sweatshirts aren't much money either. Since I try to keep my goats in fashion I usually get pink and blue sweaters for the newborns. I don't fuss unless there is a reason to with my goats but I can tell you these fashion coats have come in handy more than once during our cold winters. Hope this helps. Good Luck !!

The best thing I have found for my goats is Miniature Horse blankets. They come in all sizes. You can go to a miniature horse tack sale and buy them reasonable. If you order them out of a catalogue they cost more. Of course I have nubian goats and they are a good size . If you have very small goats they won't fit well.
