What would one want beyond this forum? There is a weekly over-the- fence chat thread which lets people communicate directly about day-to- day activities. You can also go to the Beyond the Sidewalks and Freedom/Self Reliance forums which are also supported by Greenspun. Just click on the appropriate header on the top of the forum page and select the forum you want to visit.

Beyond the sidewalks is password only, as of a couple months ago. Another homestead related forum on lusenet is A Village Commons, where courtesy is requested, but there are no passwords or other restrictions.
