Migraines come and go .I would be afraid to take something daily for migraines for 20 years .That drug was never even suggested to me for mine .I'm not sure of your age but alot of woman stop getting them when they no longer cycle.I would look at this a s a good thing .I hate taking anything I do not have to .Not much trust in drug companys or the fda .Good luck and hope they stay away.

Hi Irene,

I don't know too much, but my sister was on it and was told that she MUST come off of it slowly to avoid severe withdrawal problems. Sorry I can't be more detailed, that's all I know, but by all means, talk to the Doc. Take care.

Inderal has been around a long time, so there must be a generic. The very best person to ask about any presciption drug is the pharmacist. They have obviously the better education about all medicines, having gone to school a long time to acquire their knowledge. Inderal is not the only drug in its class..there are plenty of substitutes, which is probably why the manufacturer of the brand name is stopping production. So many of the newer beta-blockers are better, with fewer side effects. Inderal is not to be stopped abruptly unless the person is put on a similar med right away. So, ask your pharmacist to recommend another generic of Inderal, and then mention the new drug to your physician. God bless.
