Need to find site for dryer repair for Maytag

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Hi All, I know that I have ran into several sites that would guide you through repairing a dryer and darned if I can find it. I have a Maytag dryer model DE412 that has the heating element out and can't find out how to get to the devil. Has anybody done this or can send me to a site for repair info. Thanks Bill

Bill:

Go to www.repairclinic.com. They can walk you through removing the old coil and, if you don't have a local source, sell you a replacement. I've also seen a reference to www.appliances.com, but am not sure how helpful they may be.

This reminds me of a suggestion I have made in the past. Create a separate storage place for all owner's manuals, etc. It can be a file folder or three-ring binder. When you paint a room, also put in a smear of the paint, where you bought it and the exact color name (or mixing recipe). Same for wallpaper. That way the information is available when you need it. Plus, should you resell something, it is worth a little bit more if the owner's manual comes with it.

Here's another source. I found complete step by step fro my ailing Maytag washer. The firs is the home pare and the second is the page of instructions/diagnostic stuff I used.
