RCA RC5215P VCD problems, what CDR's to use

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

Does anyone know what CDR's or CDRW's work best in the RCA RC5215P DVD player? I'm trying to burn a VCD using Nero 5.5, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Go to www.cnet.com and check for electronic -> full review for your DVD Player. They sometimes mention the speed which is compatible to your DVD player. Like mine support 2X, 10X and 30X. Right now I am using 2X SONY CD-RW and it works fine.

I'm having the same problem. I just found a site that said this model accepts Samsung CDR-Ws. Haven't tried it yet, but plan on it.

I am having problems with my friend's. His DVD Player CAN play VCD's. I have VCD's that run at my house on the PC, and 2 seperate DVD Players. But when it comes to my friend's DVD Playing, which is the RCA, it doesn't work. Real weird. I do burn them at 16x speed. Could this be the problem?

I am having a problem with our RC5215P. We put a disk in and it keeps saying there is no disk. Can anyone help?

I have tried many different brands at many different speeds with no luck so far. I am trying to find out what codec is programmed into the player. Any ideas? Let me know please. Thanks.

P.S. I just tried a Memorex burned at 40x and it said the disk was not compatible.
