Canon EF 28-80 F2.8-4L Quality

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

I am curious about the quality of this lens. I am aware that Photodo rates it only .1 below the 28-70 2.8L but I have read that there is distortion at both ends with strong light falloff wide open. I would be interested in your comments, especially in comparison to the 28-70 2.8L.

Thanks

I had recently traded the following for EOS1 with PB-1 booster (US450) and 28-80L f2.8-4 (US$480): Tamron 28-200 super 3.5-4, EF75-300 3.5, Carl Zeiss Jena 300mm f4, CZ Jena 80mm 2.8, CZ Jena 135 f3.5, EF 35-80 f3.5, EOS100, EOS50 all mint conditions. Why do I do this? Because the lens and camera are top notch quality. The result speaks for itself. The resolution, sharpness and handling are superb. Although they are old models, do not discount the fact that these are top pro equipment, built like a tank. Visit this site for more info http://www.tanchung.com/canon/ef80200mmf28x.htm
