Canning Juliet tomatoes?greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread |
Has anyone had experience canning Juliet tomatoes? We have an overabundance this year and canned some. Are they suitable for canning, or best to eat fresh? In other words, do they taste the same?

Sara, I can salsa and spaghetti sauce every year made from Juliet tomatoes. They taste fine canned. They are the perfect size to fit through my Victorio food strainer without any prior preparation. Takes off the skin and removes the seeds with almost no effort. I canned a quart of whole Juliets (with the skins still on) a couple of weeks ago because I had so many, but haven't tried them yet.
