Corn is premature??????

My Sweet Corn has developed tassels, and when I shake them I see pollen, but there is no corn, what is the problem????????

Ryan, the corn tassels and pollen comes down on the little silks (see the tiny little silks down on the stalk??) after fertilization the little silks make corn which grows and matures and then you have something to eat. Hope that helps.

Yup, you just have to wait and be patient. The silks will brown and the ears will fatten and then you can start harvesting if the racoons don't get it first!

Lack of rain here .All the corn is small and only half the ears are developed .

Ryan, Planting too close could cause small and/or premature ears. You seeds should be about twenty inches apart and rows about two foot apart. Sincerely, Ernest
