Nero can't build looping VCD?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

With WinOnCD I can burn VCD playback in the standalone VCD or DVD player looping endlessly. But with Nero the player stops when the VCD comes to the end. Does anybody know how to make Nero buring looping VCD?

I don't think it's possible to do this with Nero. I occasionally burn with I-Author and everything I've burned with it will loop. I think the reason is that Nero puts something on the disc to tell the player to stop play at the end of the video segments, but I don't know exactly what that something is and I have no idea how to change it or get rid of it.

Using Nero I've made VCD's for the science center I work at that loop just fine (one short 2 minute loop has been running continuously now for about 2 months). Not certain if this makes any difference, but the looping is being done by the DVD player (typically an Apex AD600a) not in software. Hope this helps.

Hi Jim, I want to know more details about your successful story. Which version of Nero you are using? And the encoding hardware or software anyway?

I am going to build the SVCD for playing back on the lounge, so it must be looping in the DVD players . Authoring with Tmepgenc and burning with Nero would be much easier than using I-author and Easy CD Creator. But I can't make any VCD or SVCD looping endlessly with Nero.
