Map of Florida Depots : LUSENET : ACL and SAL Railroads Historical Society : One Thread

I would like info on location of depots in Florida (especially North Florida) that no longer exist.

Keith and Sherrie: A great source for the locations of railroad depots (existing and gone)is the Comprehensive Railroad Atlas of North America. Sources for the Atlas are Trains Magazine (Milwaukee, WI.) and Green Frog Productions (Atlanta, GA.). Sherrie, regarding your question about the location of the Montbrook, FL. station---- The Atlas depicts the existence of two stations--one was SAL and the other was ACL--in the same vicinity about 5 miles south of the town of Williston, Fl. Both stations are no longer in existence. Aaron Dowling

There are the following depots in Marion County that I know of: Reddick, FL (ACL) is north of McIntosh in a flea market; the McIntosh depot (ACL) has been restored by the city and used for city events; the Kendrick, FL (ACL) depot is north of Ocala and being used as a private home; the Ocala depot on the S Line (SAL/ACL)has been restored for $1.8 million dollars and used by the city for Greyhound Bus Co. and the city bus service, and is still in used by CSX, Amtrak, and Florida Northern RR; the Bellview,FL (SAL) is in front the City Hall and being used by the Chamber of Commerence; and the Dunnellon, FL (ACL) is in down town Dunnellon and used by the local historical society for comunity events. I am looking for information on a ACL depot that was located in a town called Montbrook Florida that no longer exists. The town was originally called Ambler and was changed renamed Phoenix in 1891 until it again changed it's name to Montbrook in 1899. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Please email to: Thank you

I am most interested in Putnam, St Johns, Alachua, Marion and Clay counties. Any line. Can someone suggest a map source that would have this information?

Keith, could you give some specifics. What railroad, mainline, between where and where. I can provide you with details on the SAL from Plant City to Wildwood.
