Q re. 'Extra-Capsular Extraction' CD

greenspun.com : LUSENET : dsl.org : One Thread

I now have 2 copys of the 'Extra-Capsular Extraction' CD. Both are completely identical apart from one is shrinkwrapped (open) with a barcode, and the other isn't shrinkwrapped (although it could've been at one point) and doesn't have a barcode. The only other difference between them is that the red print on the actual CD of the latter copy is darker.

I'm wondering if anyone knows what the significance or the difference is between them, if any.

The obvious explanation would be that one is the US pressing and the other is the European, but there is nothing to indicate this. For instance, there are notable differences between the US and European pressings of 'Earth 2' CD.

I know the above may sound very trivial indeed, but as the EARTH completist I've become, things like this are important!

come on man give me one of your copy, do not be a mythologizer, if you have two copies it means that another person that like Earth,as much as you, (because there are not too many copies of their LPs), he can not listen to them, or get a copy of their work, come on think about the other people who like them,

I tryed to send you an email, but it was returned. Apparently, you don't have a yahoo account?!

I can't just GIVE you a copy! I'd be willing to sell/trade. Where does it say otherwise? I've already sold the copy without the shrinkwrap, but I do have another spare copy. However, the cover is rubbed with some marks, indentations, a sticker mark, etc. I'd grade it as vg-. The CD itself has some surface scratches, but plays fine.

If your're interested, make me an offer, or send me a list of items you can offer me in trade.

You may prefer just to get the upcoming reissue though...

k, this doesnt have alot to do with the topic at hand, but ive been kinda wondering about whats so intriguing about earth for everyone else. i mean ive become obsessed with them, but i almost think it has more to do with the mystique and shit, and the really cool song titles a little more then it has to do with the actual music sometimes. hahha. i still love their work though. just wish they did more with it... SOMEtimes. u cant really find ne thing else like em though.

I certainly know what you mean about the mystique, etc, but it's the music that keeps me here. Everything else is a bonus.

My musical interests go far beyond Earth and similar. I do listen to alot of slow and heavy music though, and have done since I got into (early-mid period) Swans, etc, in the late 80's.

Earth are just another band I got into along the way. However, I do admit that there're one of only a handful of bands that I'm now truely obsessed by...
