Want to learn how stuff works? Here's a web site for learning just that.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Finding this was truly serendipitous. I found it while I was searching for something else.

The site is www.howstuffworks.com and it's really pretty neat. Non technical explanations of everything from cordless phones to lock picking and pulleys. I really enjoyed reading some things there and wanted to share it with everyone. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

Another interesting site along these lines is http://www.weeno.com/ As in, "Weeno, do you?" You can rate each article as well as post comments.

WARNING: There seems to be no screening of the comments, so for some articles, such as the one dealing with bill collectors for example, there are a LOT of comments that have rather foul language. In other words, you may not want your kids reading at least the bill collector comments--most of the rest of the postings aren't too bad. Often the comments post other websites that are pretty good.
