Good for you Jack. I live in the house that John built! Just ask him, he completely leaves me out of the story most of the time, like I was sitting in the shade sipping tea! 3 years in a travel trailer with 3 little kids, no electricity for a year, hauling water, if he was nailing a board I was holding it, and I hauled with a wheel barrow every sack of sackrete for the piers. I also taped and floated the entire house after he botched our bedroom, I just did it like iceing a cake :) I also layed all the tile floors. So it is really the house that we built! But in reality it is the house that I clean.............Vicki Keep us updated on how it is going!

I scrounged our first "piece" of our new home yesterday-the front door! It's an old church door, 2 small windows, lovely hardware. It'll be the door to the house that Kevin built! Good luck, Jack!

Ah yes! Indiana: land of taxes, permits and road blocks. We're not having any problems with what we want at our new place, cause it's already a farm. The surveyor told me that to put up a pole barn it's $100 permit and $300 deposit, with a time limit.

Our friends are going to put in a modular home over a full basement in the middle of their 100 acres that no one could possibly see, but they had to have a hearing to get permission. A formality, don't you know. Our county is supposed to be the easiest on to get things done in.

Go for it and enjoy!

Congratulations Jack! Good for you, I hope you have a good time and that it turns out almost exactly like you plan it! (in my experience nothing ever turns out exactly like I plan it, so that's why there is the "almost")
