New Vertical Orientation Bracket

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Pentax 67 SLR : One Thread

I am in not affliated with Kirk Enterprises nor do I receive any compensation from them in any form. I remembered a previous post regarding a RRS vertical orientation bracket(plate) and would like to let everyone from the forum know that Kirk Enterprises has a new custom Pentax 6X7 L-Bracket Part # BL-6x7 for $159.95 that weights in at just 6.3 oz. It allows horizontal and vertical orientation of P67 with an Arca-Swiss B-1. 1-800-626-5074 FWIW. Good Shooting! Rick

Don't forget that I ordered this and tried it out. Fact is, I like my wood handle too much to forgo using it. The bracket and the wood handle are mutually exclusive accessories. Additionally, I was a bit concerned about the potential for twisting. Give it a shot, though. Kirk E is a great company and I encourage you to give them your business. I am waiting for the next generation bracket from them (frankly, it seems odd that they didn't engineer the thing differently. I wish that they had consulted more 6x7 users.)

I had a similiar bracket custom made a couple of years ago, so I could mount a 67 Pentax in vertical orientation on a Kenlab Gyro Stabiliser... Each is fitted with 2 X Saunders quick release plates... It does the job beautifully... There is a pin at the rear which fits into a corresponding hole in the bottom of the Pentax 67 Body... With this fitted it cannot rotate...
