wonderful homestead for rent

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

hello! I am posting this to see if any Countryside readers would like a chance to really live beyond the sidewalks:). I wanted to go this route first because I understand Countryside reader's passion for what is simple, true and good. We have a three acre farmstead, half of it is wooded, the other half has 3 outbuildings, beautiful mature trees, a garden spot, and a sturdy, plain-Jane, nice 5 bedroom house on it. North Central Kansas is very beautiful, green, hilly and picturesque. The soil is rich, black and crumbly. Our home is situated between the Little Blue River and Mill Creek. It is very peaceful here. A local farmer has a right-of-way thru our property to get to his outbuildings and fields, but this has in no way presented a problem as they are wonderful, gracious and pleasant people. Other than that; the nearest neighbors are across the road and about 1/4 mile down the road. This is ideal for a large, loud, happy family such as ours! Whats the catch? None really, the Lord has just really opened the doors for us to have a really great place where we are from-Wichita Kansas. We moved out here in Y2K fright, wanting a small community and semi-isolation. We have outgrown our fears, praise God, and want to go home:). About this community: population 600, mostly farming, good folks, predominantly Catholic or Lutheran. School is great, K-12 in one building, approx. 180 enrolled. School bus comes right to our driveway. Parochial school also, grades 1-8. We plan to rent this for $300 a month. If anyone is interested in our little homestead in Hanover; Kansas please e-mail me with your phone number, and we'll also get the diggi cam out and send some pics:)
