zuchinni (taking over garden - help)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Please help. My two zuchinni plants are out of control. The big leaves are taking over half if my garden. They have overtaken my peapods, are moving over my watermellon and are heading for my tomatoes. Can I trim back some of the leaves or will that kill the zuchinni?

Response to zuchinni

Sure, whack em off. I always take off the older leaves anyway to encourage new growth. If you have squash vine borers in your area,it might not hurt to close the ends. I train them away from other stuff as the grow. Zukes are one of the reasons people have pigs and goats, after you're full of them. type ya later.Ray
