Scout leader gets suspended sentence for French kissing child

A Manchester Girl Scout leader was given a 90-day suspended sentence yesterday after she pleaded guilty to French kissing a 12-year-old girl at a troop sleep-over last February.

Mindy Lorenz, 19, of 40 Debbie St., entered a guilty plea in Manchester District Court to a misdemeanor charge of endangering the welfare of a minor.

The sentence is suspended for two years on condition she is of good behavior.

A second count, alleging she asked the child to “fool around” in exchange for $100, was dropped by city prosecutor Kenneth Bernard. He said the girl’s family was in agreement with the plea negotiation.

For two years, Lorenz is also to have no unsupervised contact with any child under the age of 17 who is not related to her.

Additionally, she is to undergo counseling with a state approved therapist beginning within the next 45 days.

Lorenz, after being sentenced by Judge Robert LaPointe, declined to comment.

She is no longer a Girl Scout leader.

Lorenz headed Troop 2757, which consisted of 15 junior Girl Scouts at the fourth- through sixth-grade level, according to a spokesman with the Swiftwater Council.

The incident took place on Feb. 18 when Troop 2757 had a group sleep-over at St. John the Baptist Church parish hall, 107 Alsace St.

The girl told police that sometime between 10 and 10:30 p.m. Lorenz French kissed her when they were in a dark, locked room. The kiss, according to court documents, lasted between 15 to 20 seconds and ended when the two were interrupted by another person knocking on the locked door.

Lorenz, when interviewed by police, admitted kissing the child and said she told the Girl Scout about her own sexual experiences with another woman, according to court records.

Lorenz offered to “help” the girl if she wanted to experience a sexual encounter with another female, police alleged.

"Gay Pediophiles" would be much more accurate but suit yourself.

In my course of business there've been many gays. Usually only know 'em for a year or two as by the time they show here they're dying. Never met one I didn't like.
