anyone know about applying rock salt to Asparagus beds?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I once read an article about applying rock salt (like ya use to make ice cream) to Asparagus Beds for fertilizer. I thought it was applied in August, but I can't remember how much to use per foot?, per row? etc. Can anyone help with this? Thank You! Harmony

Go down to the "Older Messages" section below these current threads, go into the "Gardening - General" category, do a search on your subject. To do a search, use the "Ctrl" and "F" (for find) keys together, enter "aspar", search and keep searching (find next) until you've reached the end.

I used to use rock salt on my asparagus bed to get rid of the quack grass. Never hurt the asparagus. An old farmer told me about this.
