Using a Hot-Shoe Spirit level with P67

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Pentax 67 SLR : One Thread

For years I used a hot-shoe mounted spirit level which was very helpful when using wide lenses to ensure level horizons and non-converging verticals. I have used the P67 for a few months now and have yet to find a suitable method of using my old technique.

If I buy the wooden grip am I right in thinking that the hot-shoe is not completely straight with the film plane ie. points inwards slightly? Being a keen manfrotto (tripod) user, the only other method may be for me to purchase a ball head with a built-in level - anyone any experience of using these?

I just use a string level. It's cheap and reliable.

The bubble levels on my 3047 head do the trick not only with the P67s, but every thing else!
