ICnonsense have now decided he's a flying winger. Wasn't he a full-back last season? Is he any good? BTW don't know where the London contingent are planning to watch the game tomorrow but there's a few of us tipping up in The Golden Lion on the bottom of Dean Street.

Dean Street in Soho or Dean Street in West Ham?

Yeah - I thought he was a f/b last season. But nowt new in trying our LBs at LH - Domi, Quinn and now Bernard. Mind, we did try Stephen Glass as a LB last season in the Resorves.

Might just see you there, Dave. Gav, can you get a pass on a Wednesday?

Gav - I take it you're having a laugh - why would anyone want to go to West 'am to watch Munich? Bobby - I thought you'd moved back to Tyneside?

Screacha why do you think Bernard was a Fat Bastard last season?
-- Anonymous, July 24, 2001
'Cos he couldn't run and he couldn't jump and he gave away a soft goal with a backpass. Mind, he's not as fat as you, you b@st@rd! ;-)

Actually DSS, after that mistake in the game against 'pool 2nd string nickers (??), he seemed to settle doon and played quite well. Also had a decent run oot at KP when I saw him a few weeks later. But I think he's a bit short for a fullback (OK Syme??), espesh if we have Griff on the other flank. Could leave us exposed to the crosses - so nowt new there then, eh?And you leave my lens out of things Syme. OK?

Will he become St Bernard or just a bit of a dog?
-- Anonymous, July 24, 2001
I was talking to a Darlington fan last week (in Warrington - don't ask) he reckoned Bernard is very good and would have him back tomorrow.Whether he can transcend the gap from South Durham to Tyneside remains to be seen.
