Looking for pot-bellied, depot-style corn burner

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

We have seen modern-looking corn-burning stoves. Does any manufacturer carry an antique-looking (pot-bellied) railroad station-type stove. Any information or leads on corn burning stoves is appreciated.

There are only a few companies making pot-bellied stoves. One, cheap chineese made stoves and Some company named Steve and Bob stoves. Both a NON!! UL approved, non sealed and leak like crazy and are not recomended for any sealed enviornment like a home. They are ok for garages and other open enviornment area.

Lehmans as well as most "stove" supply houses should be able to get them for you. They are rather cheap in cost, just a few hundred dollars. If you do use them in your house make sure you have some fresh air comming into the house. Also check your insurance, Will they allow a non UL listed stove in the home. The pot bellies are also not mobile home certified.
