Amtrak to dedicate memorial garden to Jack Martin

Posting the following for Al Langley. Jack died in September 2000 and was a partner in the Southeastern Railroadiana Collectors shows held annually at Atlanta, Charlotte, and Jacksonville. He also made several donations to the Society’s archives and acted as “emcee” for the door prize drawing at the ACL & SAL HS 1998 Jacksonville meeting.

Amtrak will dedicate a memorial garden, to be known as the JACK MARTIN MEMORIAL GARDEN at Amtrak’s Peachtree Station, Atlanta, Georgia on Monday , July 23, 2001. Dedication ceremonies will begin at 10:30 AM. The station is located at 1688 Peachtree Street, NW, Atlanta, Georgia .

Jack was a dear, personal friend to Deb and myself. We miss him. Perhaps, AMTRAK would even go the extra mile and name a car after him, too.
