I hadnt made any long distance calls in a while and when I did, I got message from BigZoo that my pin # had expired. Hadnt realized my six months since last recharge were up already so went to site to request an extension and saw they had added a 75cent per month fee for priviledge of using their service. The rate is still 3.9cents per minute anytime of day to any place in USA.

Anybody know of a simular prepaid plan with a simular rate without a monthly charge? I know the charge is not much, but this nickle and diming to death of customers bugs me. The govt and phone companies adding all the taxes and "idiot fees" was what drove me away from regular long distance companies in first place. I need only occasional long distance service. Most all prepaid phone cards I've seen have bunch of hidden charges or expire quickly or both. BigZoo had been a breath of fresh air. Guess I'll stay with it until I find something better though as everything else I've seen is worse.

Dont think so. They have a disclaimer on site that they gave people a 2 month notice of the 75cent fee so people could use up their paid for time and quit the service if they wanted. I somehow missed it if they sent me an email. And I hadn't been to their site in over 6months when I last recharged my account.

They always have had a 55cent fee if you used BigZoo account from a pay phone.

Try http://www.onesuite.com/ They are 2.9 cents a minute and no hidden costs! They do have the .55 charge for pay phones. And have the added feature of zip dial. (You can set it up so from certain phones you don't have to dial you pin) We use to use Big Zoo but switched to One Suite before BZ started charging .75 a month. We have been totally satisfied with One Suite.

Hey thanks Curry Comb (cute alias). Would you believe my ex just emailed me yesterday about onesuite.com. Think thats the way to go, even a penny cheaper than bigzoo if you had to use 800 number at bigzoo. By way what is cheapest recharge at Onesuite.com. I really liked it back when bigzoo had the $5 minimum recharge. As I mentioned in first post, I hadnt even used up the now $10 minimum recharge in this past 6 months at bigzoo. Guess I would have with this new 75cent monthly fee. :-((

The 75cents at bigzoo is only if you use the Upgraded access number. That is if you use the second 888 number or if you use the local number. The basic access number 18887452654 does not have a monthly fee.

you guys should try other people.....I have been using Pincity.com and they have always lowered their rates and also they have really nice customer service people. Their quality is consistnt!! I have tried alot of other companies but they have been the best i've tried.
